The film-maker, writer, visual artist and photographer Alain Fleischer was born in Paris in 1944. He lives and works in Rome, Paris and Tourcoing. Since 1989, he has been the artistic and educational director of the Studio National des Arts Contemporains, Le Fresnoy/Tourcoing, France.
