For years, the peace process has been at a standstill between Israelis and Palestinians. In the face of this blockage, an old idea has resurfaced: that of a bi-national state, in which Jews and Arabs live side by side.
ARTE Reportage shows, for example, how the idea of a bi-national state is gaining ground in the Middle East. It looks at day-to-day coexistence, negotiations between settlers and Palestinian dignitaries, and disconcerting political initiatives, and reveals a little known aspect of Israeli-Palestinian relations. Could the idea of a bi-national state mark the end of a hundred-year war?
