The second section focuses on nudity in dance. Dancing in the nude is as old as… dance itself.

While nudity in dance is hardly a modern invention, it was only in the 20th century that it truly became prevalent, taking hold of nearly all aspects of choreographic expression. Never before had there been so much nude dancing! These last few years it has practically become commonplace and yet we still haven’t gotten fully used to seeing naked bodies on stage. Nudity is not an end in itself but a tool choreographers and dancers use to express much more. Nudity is a question of morals, politics, eroticism, sex, humility, protest, provocation—in short, it is revolutionary.
