The Yucatán Peninsula in South East Mexico is the cradle of the three thousand year old Maya civilisation. Here, Bernard meets Don Galo, a traditional doctor who belongs to the highest category of healers - the H’men.

The H’men are Mayan sages, who play the role of both healer and priest, and call upon the Mayan Gods. They are in charge of the wellbeing of the Earth and of the people that cultivate it. With Don Galo, Bernard discovers a medicine in which body and environment are closely linked. In their practice the H’men use plants, energy massages, and even a local form of acupuncture.
