In early 2013, descendants of al-Qaeda in Iraq entered Syria under the cover of the chaos and the void left by the war against Bashar al-Assad. They surprised everybody and since, have been reigning in terror over part of Iraq and Syria.

In a little over a year, these men, come from all over the world, have conquered a territory the size of the United Kingdom that they designate as the caliphate. Their methods are armed combat, terror and also the street. They pose as mediators before exercising their absolute power. What weight do they carry? What resources do they have? Are they invincible?
