This documentary examines Greek and European identity via the words, works, memories and wanderings of three leading contemporary Greek writers: Petros Markaris, Eris Sotiropoulos and Christos Chryssopoulos

From different generations and worlds, these authors recount their Greece: the Greece of yesterday marked by the troubles of history and politics; the Greece of today that is gradually dissolving in the daily chaos of one of the continent’s most effervescent cities; and the Greece of tomorrow, whose identity has yet to be reinvented.
The feelings they experience, with which their books are imbued, are highly varied, from nostalgia to anxiety to excitement, but they are always particularly lively, as though uncertainty and danger has sharpened them. Or as though they felt - far more than all other European writers - the urgency to unify, by their writing, what can be unified in a country that is dislocated, uncertain and in the throes of change.
