Cameroon is better known for its beaches than its mountains, and yet the country is essentially made up of mountain plateaus born out of the geological upheaval of the tertiary period.

The principal mountain range is studded with volcanoes, the best known of which is Mount Cameroon, the highest peak in West Africa. There are no highways in Cameroon, an advantage if you want to get off the beaten track… Aware of the beauty of their country, the Cameroon people fully intend to preserve it. Sustainable development is a tangible reality here, and undertaken by all the mountain dwellers.
