A natural history series on Man’s special relationship to trees. Each episode will present two trees with the life and culture that surround them. From the Japanese Bonsai to the Senegalese Baobab, journey across ten different countries to discover each tree’s fascinating history.

Through the stories told by people who live near them, we find out how different cultures in both hemispheres view this shared natural heritage. The series emphasizes the staggering diversity of tree species by focusing on a pair of trees in 2 different countries in each programme, including non-European species such as baobabs, the giant redwood, the Indian banyan and the monkey puzzle tree.
