The communities of the Fansipan Mountain in North Vietnam have always resisted invaders and have protected their languages and cultures.

Most of the mountain folk in the remote villages still wear traditional costume. But villages are emptying out, as the youngest members of the communities leave the mountains to go and study in Hanoi.
