The Bogor gardens, on the island of Java, are Indonesia’s oldest botanical gardens. They were created at the start of the 19th century by the Dutch, who controlled the archipelago at the time.

These gardens, which stretch for over 80 hectares, are located in the heart of the city of Bogor and house the presidential palace. They are also a public park, where the inhabitants of the capital come to stroll, far from the suffocating heat of Jakarta. One of the garden’s treasures is its tropical rainforest.
