In the Almeria region of southern Spain, an estimated 40,000 illegals work in “Europe’s vegetable garden”. 

In the stifling heat, and at high speed, they handle chemical pesticides and fertilizers, often without suitable protection. Certain agricultural operations are very happy to take full advantage of this exploitable and malleable workforce.
Once the day’s work is complete, they pack into insalubrious shanty towns, victims of daily racism and multiple, repeated aggravations. These migrants have massively contributed to the economic success of the region, and yet profit very little from it…
