There is a rumor that circulates among immigrants to Europe: The jungle in Calais still exists, despite France having spread news that it has been dismantled to discourage those hoping to use it as a base from which to reach England.

Since the refugee camp known as “the jungle” was broken up, immigrants still arrive on a daily basis in Calais, some of them very young. With no structure to house them, they seek refuge in the nearby industrial areas, woodland, ditches, and sometimes with local residents. As such, new “jungles” are taking shape, despite efforts by the authorities to prevent them.
Today, immigrants are barred from entering Calais. Hundreds of CRS riot police have orders to make their lives impossible: Impossible to sleep, impossible to wash, impossible to eat.
A hard-hitting reportage which reveals a reality far removed from the official discourse.
