At the threshold of the Brazilian Amazon, in Belo Monte, a gigantic dam built on the Xingu river threatens idyllic life on the banks of Rio Tapajòs.

Juarez is the chief of the Mundurukus, a tribe made up of 20 hunting and gathering families. He is worried. The construction project of a hydroelectric dam towering at a 100 meters would provide electricity to 60 million brazilians. But it would also spell the end of a life in harmony with nature.
The dam project was created by energy consortium "Norte Energia". They aer pleading that progress is inevitable and locals have to adapt. Deforestation is running wild. Even if indigenous people organize their resistance, they know their way of life is condemned... The brazilian government seems to have forsaken them.
