Created more than 800 years ago and currently composed of 93 boys aged from 9 to 19, Saint-Thomas church’s choir in Leipzig is internationally renowned.
Its choir boys, also known as “Thomaner”, are enrolled in a boarding school where they are subjected to very strict rules and dispensed an exceptional musical and vocal training. We follow the daily lives of three boys from this prestigious institution : Leif, a 9 year old novice ; Nathanael, a 12 year old choir member and most experimented “Thomaner” ; and Jasper, aged 17, who is spending his last year in the choir. Every year, to pay tribute to Jean-Sebastien Bach, the most famous cantor of this mastery, the choir boys prepare to perform a Christmas Oratorio in an overcrowded church.
