Since 2008, the Tanzanian government has been rounding up albino children in facilities in order to “protect” them. These children are often subject to mutilations that supply organ trafficking – they have to endure vile attacks in the name of superstitions which credit them with magical virtues.

Interned from preschool onward, albino children are thought to be “saved”. They are actually held in facilities that are schools only in name. The latter often leave without any education and without their family. Josephat Turner strives to secure their freedom and for attitudes to change. He sheds a light on these children’s fate in those camps – which are now off-limits to foreign media.
