Titian (1488/90-1576) fascinated the whole of Europe when he depicted Venice's beauties in paintings of mythological or Madonna and child scenes from the traditional repertoire. In doing so, he mixed the sacred and the secular.

The film shows that this fashion was born in 1515 in Venice, under Titian's paintbrush. The film also looks at how Titian's characters were portrayed with much more sensuality than previous works. The film also looks at how Titian introduced movement into his compositions - a century before Rubens.
