In the province of Granma, in the South-West of Cuba, fiestas cannot be celebrated without órganos orientales. These are true masterpieces of string-instrument craftsmanship that were initially imported from France.

Deeply anchored in the local cultural tradition, the música molida (“ground music”) can be played on barrel organs with perforated cardboard strips. They enliven the celebrations of these isolated villages of the Granma province, a remote region that few tourists know about.
