Pianist born in Kingston, Monty Alexander is a virtuoso with multiple secrets. Playing solo or in groups, he impresses audiences. He explores the world of Jazz, swing, bebop, blues, calypso and reggae, and has created a style of his own.

For him, music is a heart beat. He plays with emotion, intelligence, humor and sensibility. During this unique moment, we are transported with his joyful swing and fizzing grooves, influenced by Afro-american Jazz of Harlem and reggae from Jamaica.
This concert at the Seine Musical is exceptional. It is extremely rare for Monty Alexander to do a solo performance. We are in for an evening full of surprises.

The young trumpet player has become in a few years the emblematic figure of a jazzmen’s generation capable of shaking up the genre’s conventions, of challenging it to new horizons and a new audience. No doubt, at 33 years old, Christian Scott sees beyond the normal scope. One record after the other, he even seems more and more determined to rewrite the rules of jazz with hybridization, avant-garde and explorations. In this year celebrating Jazz centennial, history has provided Scott with an ideal counterpoint to tradition.

Winner 1st prize of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015, Dmitry Masleev is solicited by the biggest orchestras in the world. The « Piano à Lyon » Festival in Lyon, France had the priviledge to invite the pianist at the beginning of a very promising career and for a recital that highlights the greatest scores of the repertoire.
 

This hybrid film project mixing Dmitry’s live performance footage and fiction is a poetic illustration of his performance, a pure narrative inspired by his music. Masleev’s subtle touch carries us away in his musical universe ... in his dreams ...

Lee Ranaldo, one of the former pillars of Sonic Youth, released a new solo album, Electric Trim in September 2017 on Mute. The album was recorded in New York and Barcelona in collaboration with producer Raul Refree Fernandez.

Other collaborators include Sharon Van Etten, who sings six of the songs in this latest album, Kid Millions (aka Man Forever), as well as his longtime friend and collaborator Nels Cline (Wilco). Ranaldo collaborated with New York author Jonathan Lethem (Motherless Brooklyn / The Fortress of Solitude) for the lyrics of six of his songs. Filmed at the Epicerie Moderne, Lyon France in March 2018, Lee’s stage performance takes us at the crossroads of Neil Young and Wilco where we find a Lee Ranaldo sometimes psychedelic, folk rock, but always free-minded.

Donny McCaslin is David Bowie's chosen musician for what will be his last album « Blackstar ». Beyond Now which the jazz saxophonist publishes three months after the end of their joint venture on the album Blackstar, is not an "opportunist" album but a unique and unexpected tribute.

Filmed at the Coopérative de Mai in November 2017, this intimate concert offers a journey between jazz, post-punk, psychedelic and electro in a unique atmosphere.

Symbiose is the meeting between the eastern and the western worlds along the mediterranean shores, where poetic narratives (Pamuk, Levin, Darwich, Hikmet & Pessoa) mingle with the Ose! Orchestra symphonic music and the ethnic rock music from the band Aligator.

From this symbiosis comes a hybrid and vibrating entity, a poetic and symphonic concert in which the word sings.
