The bird flu virus has made its appearance in Europe. What responses do the international community and its States plan to put forward against the pandemic, on a sanitary and security level. How should we react to eradicate this virus?

Based on emergency meetings at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, this documentary recounts diverse solutions - massive destruction of areas infected by the H5 N1 viruses, preventative vaccinations for poultry, industrialisation of breeding - each country has its own response and is putting its own prevention policy into practice. All include their share of incertitude, in the face of the expected mutation of the virus.
How should we react when the virus mutates to a form which is transmissible from human to human? While we wait for a vaccine that can only be put into production once the genetic modification of the virus has stabilised, will we have enough anti-viral for everyone?
All the questions raised in this film lead us to reflect upon the role of Science, our need for previsions and the relationship we forge with Nature.
