Yvoire is a village on the natural frontier formed by the shores of Lake Leman, where it is known as the ‘pearl of the lake’. 

Its history began in the 14th century, when the Counts of Savoy were looking for a stronghold on the lake to consolidate their power in the region. They chose Yvoire, much to the distaste of the nearby town of Rovorée, loyal to the lords of Faucigny, resulting in successive attacks and wars.
 
Yvoire is also known for its passion for flowers. There is a remarkable garden with a maze, one of only a few of its kind in France, which appeals to the five senses…
